Description

Marietta Cellars is donating a 6pack of their Family Series of  Estate Wines.  These include 2 each of their 2015 Roman, 2014 Christo and 2014 Arme.

  2015 ROMAN

The 2015 Román is a gorgeous, Zinfandel-based red. Bright, plump and exuberant, the 2015 offers striking depth as well as freshness. This is an incredibly delicious, inviting wine. Even better, it is a tremendous value. Petite Syrah and Barbera round out the blend. Succulent red berry, spice, leather and floral notes add to the wine’s silky personality.

2014 CHRISTO

This intense, powerful Syrah-based wine is grown mostly on our McDowell Valley property which has a long history of championing Rhone varietals. Co-fermented with Viognier, the Syrah expresses violet, tar, and rich earth.  Petite Sirah from Alexander Valley brings chewy bitter chocolate, while Grenache grown at 1400 feet elevation in the Yorkville highlands keeps the wine bright and juicy.  Full-bodied and fleshy, this wine is dark and brooding yet silky and smooth.

The 2014 Christo, Marietta’s Rhône blend, is bold, racy and juicy, all qualities that make it hard to resist. The Christo is the most exuberant and flamboyant of these reds. The blend is mostly Syrah, with some Petite Sirah, Grenache and Viognier. Sage, tobacco, menthol and licorice wrap around the juicy, exuberant finish.

2014 ARMÉ

A bold, pungent wine, the 2014 Armé offers a decidedly old school-influenced profile of dark stone fruit, black olive, herb, tobacco and licorice. Cool and savory, but with considerable depth, the 2014 Armé is another knock-out wine from Scot Bilbro. Readers looking for a value-priced California Cabernet will flip out over this wine. This is a very serious wine for the money.
