Winning bidder will receive two (2) piano lessons, 45 minutes each, good for a child or adult from Helen Mitchell in Sonoma.

Helen has been teaching piano for over 35 years. She teaches all ages, all levels, all styles and genres. She specializes in beginners but has intermediate and advanced students as well. She teaches in her home and also is willing to travel to others homes if local.

She has had some students go on to become professional musicians, and many, who started, even at age 4, stayed with her through high school.  She has taught many adults, as well as a few emotionally/cognitively challenged children.  She is also able to incorporate singing into the piano lessons.

Helen is patient, creative, and in addition to progressive methodology , allows students to choose the music they love and encourage them to write their own music.

She holds a yearly recital, for students and family and friends, which is an empowering and lovely event.  

Helen studied at San Francisco State and hold degrees in Music Education with a minor in Creative Writing and also a Women’s Studies Degree.
