Description

Glessner House is an internationally-known architectural treasure and National Historic Landmark, Glessner House was designed by noted American architect Henry Hobson Richardson for John and Frances Glessner. It was completed in 1887. A radical departure from traditional Victorian architecture, the structure served as an inspiration to architects such as Louis Sillivan, Mies Van der Rohe, and the young Frank Lloyd Wright, and helped refine architecture of its era.

During your 75-minute tour for four, you will explore the 17,000 square foot mansion, delight in its world-class collection of English and American Arts & Crafts-era furnishings, and learn about the Glessners, a prominent Gilded Era family who had considerable effect on the development of late 19th and early 20th century Chicago.
