Description
9 bottles 2018 Les Petites Sardines Muscadet Sevre et Maine - Sur Lie
Muscadet is produced around Nantes in the lower Loire Valley of France. The grape is known locally as Muscadet, but its true name is Melon, and it was brought from Burgundy to the Loire Valley some three centuries ago. The best wines come from Sevre et Maine, named for the small Sevre and Maine rivers that flow through the area. Although most Muscadets are made in stainless steel, the best are fermented and aged in barrels and left on the yeast lees for several months before bottling – hence the term Sur Lie. Here you have a bright golden color, with a touch of green, and rich aromas and flavors of citrus, lime, pineapple, mineral and green apple. Fresh. Tropical. Smooth entry with a lovely crispness. Mouthwatering. Mouthfilling. Full bodied. Refreshing. Long, lingering finish and aftertaste. All the moves of Muscadet. Delicious drinking.
