Phibbs’ Portraits present subjects as varied as Meryl Streep and Rafael Nadal, Beyoncé and Hillary Clinton, all with a poignant intimacy.

An experienced director, Phibbs has shot campaigns for Ralph Lauren, H&M and Drakkar Noir.  His visual sensibility gives his film work the same distinctive point of view that is his print trademark. His short film The Turkish Wrestler has been accepted in many prestigious film festivals and won best documentary short in the 2016 LAIFF and Hollywood Film Festivals. Richard has published several books. His book The West, is a penetrating and personal view of the beauty and authenticity of the North American West and its people. His book Chasing Beauty, highlights a decades worth of personal work. Phibbs is also a passionate advocate for animal rights. He’s photographed hundreds of abandoned animals for the Humane Society of New York, in portraits that create an immediate emotional connection to the dogs and other animals. His book, Rescue Me, is a result of that work, a collection of portraits of shelter dogs and their heartwarming stories.
