Our promise is to educate, coach, and advocate for girls and women with an aptitude, talent, and passion for STEM!
One GIRL age 4-12 will receive a week of our 2020 Project Scientist Academy at Loyola Marymount University!
Project Scientist is a summer program on university campuses where GIRLS are immersed in STEM through learning from a tailored curriculum facilitated by highly skilled and credentialed educators by participating in exciting hands-on experiments, field trips, and daily interactions with female role models from a variety of STEM fields. 2020 Academy camps include Environmental Health and Climate Change, Aerospace and AI, Biomedical Engineering and Dissection, Science of Play and Entertainment, Technology and Robotics, and Inventions! Camp Dates
June 29-July 3: Technology, Robotics and Code Design
July 6-10: Invention and Tech: Entrepreneurship for Good
Camp Hours
Students can be dropped off between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. Camp activities begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Pick up hours are between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Field Trip Expeditions
Every week students take a field trip on a charter bus to STEM companies like Google, Microsoft, Medtronic, and more! Expeditions allow girls to see women thriving in the STEM space.
Academy Staff
Project Scientist Academy staff is comprised of State Certified teachers, STEM and Education major college fellows, and volunteers. The adult to child ratio does not exceed 1:10. All staff members complete background checks and CPR certification prior to the beginning of the Academy.
Ages and Curriculum
We accept girls ages 4-12 to be a part of our Academy program. Girls are divided into age level groups for hands-on STEM time. Typical grouping is Pre-K-K, Gr 1-2, Gr 3-4, and Gr 5-7 but may vary depending on weekly enrollment numbers.
