Four Personal Favorites from Entoca la Storia, Hand Selected by Owner and Advanced Sommelier Michael Guerra.
2013 Cappellano "Otin Fiorin - Piè Rupestris" Barolo
The 2013 Barolo Rupestris is insanely beautiful. Here the flavors are dark and intense. Black cherry, plum, lavender and menthol add to the wine's sense of gravitas. The 2013 is endowed with serious power and intensity, and yet it has an element of inner sweetness that adds sensuality. In many ways, it reminds me of the 1989, which remains a tremendous Barolo. Powerful, explosive and tannic, the 2013 has much to offer. (AG)

2015 Giuseppe Quintarelli Primofiore
A gentle explosion of fresh fruit, flowers, and spice, Primofiore is the first Quintarelli red to be released—no less than four years after the vintage. Its youthful charm and classiness throughout make it a Veneto staple.

2011 Tenuta delle Terre Nere "Calderara Sottana" Etna Rosso
Nose: There is a real good red fruit core with red cherries, volcanic ash, red florals, berries, spice notes, some earth, and a touch of mint.
Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and chewy tannins. The feel is certainly youthful, but with polish and red cherries, red florals, earth tones, spices, and some berries.
Overall: This is lovely stuff. It's certainly young, but it shows a lot to like right now. (91 pts.)
2007 Emidio Pepe Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
WS 93 Wine Spectator
A fragrant red, with dried flower, spice, game and loamy earth notes lacing the crushed black currant and dried fig flavors, supported by a rich, tarry underpinning. Fine-grained tannins provide definition and grip in this elegant red. Mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2027
