Maroon 2013 Malbec: Originally a common blending grape and one of the original five main Bordeaux wine varietals, Malbec is now known as the principal red grape of Argentina. It appeared as a grape variety in its own right in the Napa Valley in the 1990's. Malbec typically ripens midway through the growing season and produces small, intensely colored grapes.

Our 2013 Malbec comes from 11-year-old vines which are carefully farmed on the North-East slope of Howell Mountain. The wine is big, dark and inky with aromas of plums and dark ripe berries. This is a rustic wine with powerful fruit. On the palate, the wine is rich and round, with a long wonderful finish.

Maroon 2014 Zinfandel: This 2014 Zinfandel comes from old vines in Chiles Valley, and is a very fruit-driven, exuberant wine. This wine shows bright plum and blackberry aromas, intertwined with spicy raspberry. There are hints of baking spices and streaks of vanilla from the new barrels. On the palate, the wine is well balanced with medium weight, with spicy berry flavors consistent with the aromas. This Zinfandel ends with a long finish and a nice, light streak of acidity. The wine was aged in 30% New Oak (Hungarian, French, American) for 14 months on the lees.

Allora 2013 Petite Sirah: An ideal growing season with dry conditions and a long, sunny summer. Despite being a drought year it is worthy to be called superior. This wine displays flavors of wild anise and currant with subtle hints of black pepper. It is outstanding because of its intense inky color and juicy, bold finish.

Allora 2013 Tresca, Cabernet Sauvignon: An ideal growing season with dry conditions and a long, sunny summer. Despite being a drought year it is worthy to be called superior. Tresca's aromas of black licorice, nutmeg, red currant and hints of mocha resonate well.

Pope Valley 2016 Merlot: Camphor, dried tobacco, and basil abound! Integrated acid and soft tannins give this wine its characteristic plush, round mouthfeel. A fine palate of English plums, raspberry gratin, and dried thyme makes the Merlot versatile enough for any meal.

Pope Valley 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon: Dried bay leaves, coriander, and English plum give way to savor aromatic undertones of light-roasted Central American coffee toasted pignoli nuts.

Maroon Wines: Maroon handcrafts a number of very small production wines from vineyard sources that may change from year to year. While the vineyard sources may change, their winemaking philosophy does not – focusing on creating 100% varietal wines (no blending). These wines are often only made available to their wine club. www.maroonwines.com

Allora Vineyards: The word Allora in Italian loosely translates to ‘so what’. It is a word that is often used in Italy as ‘whatever’, and we felt this best described our style as well. We want to share our passion for wine with all who visit. Allora Vineyards was established in 1999. The Proprietors of Allora are Terry & Nancy Klein and they manage the winery with their family. In 1998, the Klein’s came across a 15-acre parcel on the north end of Saint Helena which had been used solely as pasture grounds for over 50 years. The soil was ideal for a vineyard as it was a rich sandy-loam and clay. They purchased it and immediately got to work in preparing for a vineyard. Part of the preparation including consulting some of the most notable wine growers in Napa Valley. They assisted in selecting rootstock, vineyard orientation, sun exposure, clones and varietals. www.alloravineyards.com

Pope Valley Winery: The Pope Valley Winery was founded in 1897 by Ed Haus as Burgundy Winery & Olive Oil Factory. A century later in 1997, the Eakle family purchased the historic winery and gave it a new life as Pope Valley Winery. In 2009 the next generation of Eakles stepped in to continue building and furthering the family's vision for Pope Valley Winery as a fine winemaking establishment. Currently siblings David Eakle, winemaker, and Diana Eakle Hawkins, general manager, are making great strides in bringing Pope Valley Winery to the next level. www.popevalleywinery.com
