"Images of America, Iberia Parish" by Nelwyn Hebert and Warren A. Perrin

Acadiana authors Nelwyn Hebert and Warren A. Perrin have published a collection of 200 vintage images and memories of Iberia Parish, part of Arcadia Publishing's ""Images of America"" series.

""Iberia Parish"" tells the history of the area from its inception in the mid-1700s by the French, the arrival of the Spanish and Acadians in the mid-18th century when the town was called Nueva Iberia, and on up into the 20th century. The book includes an introduction by historian Shane Bernard followed by wonderful photographs of people, cultural events, festivals, sports, food and so much more.

The majority of the images have been donated from private collections of local residents, including those of the McIlhenny family, owners of Tabasco. Some photos never seen before include those of Buck Johnson and the town of Derouen.

"Looking Back, Images of Iberia Parish 1940-1970" published by Daily Iberian

These books were found during the move from the old Daily Iberian building to the current location on Main Street.  You will see many faces you recognize as you turn the pages.  This pictorial history book for Iberia Parish, offering vignettes of life and lives between 1940 and 1970, attempts to highlight and honor just a few of the many great people who have made this community the great place it is.

"New Iberia, What Can’t Be Lost: 
Stories and Recollections from Iberia Parish, Louisiana"
Decades before there was even a spark of an idea for a book, Dianne Landry made sixty video interviews of residents of Iberia Parish. She recognized the importance of recording and preserving the local history with no thought at the time as to how these videos would be used. In 2007 and again in 2009, the Iberia Cultural Resources Association hosted events where local residents entertained the audience with their recollections of people and places in Iberia Parish. In order to preserve these oral histories and vignettes of the past, the Iberia Cultural Resources Association has compiled this volume of real stories about simple pleasures, harsh realities, and strong family ties throughout the parish including Avery Island, Coteau, Delcambre, Patoutville, Jefferson Island, Lydia, Weeks Island, Jeanerette, Loreauville, and New Iberia.
