Hello!  I'm Matt Weber,

I make witch hats for costume and for fashion!

When making them, I always think about the kind of witch each hat belongs to; what kind of person are they?  What connection do they have to their magic and environment?  What kind of hat would look best for them?

This hat (or 'piece', but I'm not sure I have the guts to call my hats pieces yet, haha...) is called "Groundskeeper's Veil" and is inspired by one of my favorite places in the world:  Louisiana's graveyards!

The hat takes after the white marble graves and their tendency to house the loveliest shades of green in their moss and mildew, with the black lace standing in for the wrought iron fences that line them.

Crows and vultures were the inspiration for the mask.  Crows, for their intelligence and use of tools, and vultures, for their important role in controlling dangerous bacteria.  I find both bird families to be extremely elegant and menacing, a combination I personally appreciate in graveyards.  If I saw either type of bird patrolling a cemetery, I'd think it to be in good hands.

I hope if you take this set home with you, you'll take time to appreciate our cemeteries, especially the overgrown ones.  Decay is a lovely tune, whether it is written in stone or flesh.
