Description

Start or add to a collection with this genuine ancient Jewish coin minted in Jerusalem by King Herod Agrippa.

Agrippa played a major role in securing Claudius his title as Caesar and was awarded by being named King of Judaea in 41 CE. His rule was versus short as he died under mysterious circumstances in 44 CE.

This coin shows a canopy on one side (left image) and three barley grains on the other (right image). Part of the caption is readable “of King Agrippa.”  Hendin 1144. Very good to fine.
