**Private In-Person and Online Tutoring and Test Prep.**

MyGuru is a boutique provider of 1-1 tutoring and test prep with a focus on core skill development, meaning our objective is to help students understand the fundamental concepts, not tips and tricks.

Our independently contracted tutors have many years of experience and impressive academic backgrounds. We require a minimum of three years of tutoring and/or teaching experience. All of our tutors have undergraduate degrees, and most have advanced degrees, from highly selective institutions. We require standardized test scores in the 95th percentile at a minimum. We have a small but highly qualified team and one of our founders personally interviews each tutor.

We believe that tutoring requires a different skill set than classroom teaching, and we know that simply understanding a given subject well doesnt create a great tutor. We stress the importance of mindset, strategy, confidence, effective study habits, and time management and organization skills in achieving superior performance in school and on standardized tests.

We have tutors in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, as well as other major US cities such as Boston and New York, and also offer online tutoring.

Our tutors are experts in test prep (ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, NCLEX, MCAT, CPA, CFA, etc.) and most academic subjects.
