Description

Ronald Reagan, former actor and Republican Governor of California, was the 40th President of the United States, serving two terms from 1981-1989.

These 15 anti-Reagan buttons are from two campaigns: The top 3 are from his California Gubernatorial campaign. The rest are from his two Presidential campaigns, produced by his Democratic opponents.

In 1976 Reagan defeated incumbent President Jimmy Carter and in 1984, Reagan ran against Walter Mondale, the former Vice-President under Jimmy Carter. However Reagan won his second term election in a landslide victory. He was a very popular President, leaving office with a 68% approval rating. He is known for his "supply side economics" (Reaganomics), reducing inflation from 12.5% to 4.4% and ending the Cold War.
