When Maya first arrived at Elephant Conservation and Care Center from the circus, she was really underfed and withdrawn. She was forced to work at a circus for people’s entertainment and was chained at the end of the day. Today, Maya is a happy and healthy elephant and loves her friend Phoolkali’s company. While she’s not all that enthusiastic about her walks, she really loves playing football, which is her favorite game.
