Artist's Statement: This is my second painting inspired by the gorgeous Jiya. I am a staunch admirer of Jiya’s beauty and capturing her on canvas is always a joy as much as it is a challenge. I hope I have done justice to this magnificent large cat in all her glory.

Jiya and her sibling Jaya were rescued as cubs by Wildlife SOS. They are now safe and loved at the Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Center. Thank you to Wildlife SOS for being the voice of the voiceless. I hope that more people will join in and support this wonderful cause! 

About the Artist: A little about me – I am an artist, painting as a hobby. I use oil as a medium and enjoy painting wildlife subjects. I am an ardent supporter of Wildlife SOS and love to paint their magnificent rescued residents.

More about Jiya: Jiya is a full grown adult female leopard who was brought to Wildlife SOS after her mother succumbed to injuries incurred while hunting. Timid and scared initially, it took quite some time for Jiya to get comfortable with her new surroundings. Today, she is a favorite among the vets and staff. She keeps busy grooming herself, sharpening her claws on a tree stump or simply walking around the enclosure, stalking imaginary prey. (Kitties are just kitties!)
