Description

Berry Happy Polly is an original oil on canvas by the talented Bharati Manjeshwar.

Polly was rescued in 2008 from the Kalandar community who used her as a dancing bear. When she first came to the Agra Bear Rescue Facility, she was weak, emaciated, and exhausted.

At the sanctuary, she is the picture of health! She loves coconuts and napping on her hammock enrichment. She is a bit shy but enjoys the company of her sanctuary friends Brabu and Suraj.

Thank you for Bharati for capturing this Berry Happy bear!

Size: 12” x 12”

From the Artist: When I first saw the photo of this bear, my heart filled with joy! I knew right at that moment; it would be my first sloth bear to bring alive on canvas. I improvised his enrichment ball into a bunch of berries. I hope I’ve done justice to this happy creature.

This bear lives in one of Wildlife SOS’s Bear rescue center’s in India. Her smile to me, reflects Wildlife SOS’ successful efforts in eradicating the dancing bear trade in India and rehabilitating the bears. Thank you, Wildlife SOS, for all that you do.

About the Artist: A little about me – I am an artist, painting as a hobby. I use oil as a medium and enjoy painting wildlife subjects. I am an ardent supporter of Wildlife SOS and love to paint their rescued residents.
