Kalpana was rescued in April 2019 from the life of a begging elephant. Her rescue was featured in our series on NatGeo Wild during the episode titled "Operation Elephant." During this episode, we welcome newly rescued Kalpana to the sanctuary with a special welcome and naming ceremony. We are auctioning off the actual Ganesh statue that you see in this episode.
