Sake and Cheese Tasting for Two

Item Number: 194
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Experience cheese tasting in a novel way...with sake! Did you know that sake and cheese both contain lactic acid (aka milk acid)? They both contribute to a creamy and almost, buttery, aroma when pairing them together. Entice your senses by discovering new flavors with your date at the Periodic Table.
The Periodic Table is a new taproom and sake bar, located inside Public Market Emeryville. A spinoff concept from the team behind Shiba Ramen, The Periodic Table features twelve rotating beer taps, pouring the best craft beer from the Bay Area and Japan. They offer an extensive selection of sake, shochu, and distilled spirits from Japan.
Thier number one goal is to help American drinkers experience sake as a casual everyday drink, outside the context of a sushi restaurant. They offer a small bar menu, including burgers, cheese and charcuterie plates, and items from Shiba Ramen. Their 18-seat bar is an intimate refuge inside the bustling Public Market, featuring modern design inspired by Japanese geometric patterns and chemistry.
The Periodic Table's owners are Ph.D. organic chemists who are passionate about good drinking, Japanese culture, design, and science, and The Periodic Table is a forum to share those passions with the East Bay community. Their logo is a graphic representation of the ethanol molecule, C2H5OH.
