Description

This "Sun" pattern Birnbaum proofing basket will help you create very cool looking loaves of bread!  This rattan proofing basket was made in Germany. Approximate size 8" diameter (top edge), 5" diameter (bottom ) X 3"H

Birnbaum® proofing baskets made of rattan
The traditional rattan proofing baskets are unbeatable in fermenting dough. The natural raw material allows an even fermentation. It saves the warmth of bread dough and absorbs moisture – it thereby regulates fermentation optimally for a nice, even texture and a crispy crust.

Especially artisan bakers and organic bakeries appreciate rattan brotforms because they are made of 100 % natural material. They can just as well be used in the fully automated, industrial production of bread and baked goods.

Instructions for use for proofing baskets with engraving:
Clean and handle your brotform with engraving just like your other rattan proofing baskets. However, during the “first treatment” with enzyme-free releasing agent respectively surface oil and flour, you must ensure to dust the inner of the brotforms evenly but not too heavily. After you have used the brotforms 4 – 6 times and a thin flour layer has emerged, the engraving becomes the best apparent. By careful tapping, remove excessive flour regularly.

These rattan proofing baskets with engraving are solely intended for fermenting dough.
