Retro Brass Tortoise Table Vesta c1930s. Peerage-England Cast Brassware. Brass Turtle Trinket/Storage Box. Retro Brass Tortoise Paperweight.
This lovely old fellow was made in Birmingham, England by Pearson-Page & Co. in the late 1930s.
They were a preeminent firm of Brassfounders making industrial & domestic pieces from around 1883. They used the trade name Peerage for their knobbly nick-nacks.
A beautifully solid & detailed casting, he shows a little polishing wear & patina but no damage or faults. Stamped England on his tummy.

Now looking for a loving new home, he has no bad habits, and is a steady and faithful companion.
Always used by the fireplace as a Vesta or Match Pot, he likes the warmth & doesn't wander far!
