Description

Handmade, Hand-Dyed Clutch Pacaya by The Coyolya Association of Maya Women

The Clutch Pacaya is an instant classic in red, dark blue, bronze, and black. The arrows are hand-dyed which makes every clutch a unique accessory. Inside, there are three compartments, including one with a zipper that makes this clutch a practical daily bag. The detachable black leather strap easily converts the Clutch Pacaya from night to day mode.

The Clutch Pacaya has three inner compartments. One can be closed with a zipper, and two are on either side of the zippered compartment. The foldover closes on the front with a magnetic clasp snap.

7" tall x 10.5" wide x 1" deep when closed
13.25” tall when opened
48” adjustable leather strap

Please remember that our products are handmade by the wonderful artisans of Cojolya. Thus, variations may occur.

Our Story:

Despite centuries of persistent domination and systematic racism, the backstrap loom weaving technique is a key Maya art form that has persisted intact in Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala. Cojolya is both a registered non-profit working to improve the lives of our artisans and their families, and a certified Fair Trade organization dedicated to the conservation of the tradition, not as a historical relic, but as an economically viable source of employment for our women weavers.
