This large onyx turtle from Lin Ottinger's Moab Rock Shop is magnificent piece. It measures approximately 5 X 4 X 1 3/4 inches. Onyx is a semiprecious variety of agate with a variety of colors arranged in bands. It is considered to be a powerful warrior stone that helps ward off negative thoughts stemming from fear. 

Lin Ottinger started selling rocks in Moab in 1958. The store on North Main St., specializes in dinosaur bone, petrified wood, crystals, mineral specimens, fossils and meteorites.
