Description

An Experience You'll Savor: Come learn to cook regional Indian Cuisine! Join Kiran Dixit as she walks you through steps to cook typical Maharashtrian food. Kiran is a long-time friend of C.A.S.E. and former chair of our Board of Directors. You will learn simple vegetarian recipes that include making dishes with legumes, lentils, fresh veggies, and non-vegetarian food. Kiran will work with you to develop a menu, plan the ingredients, and then do a virtual cooking lesson for you and up to 9 other households via Zoom.

She will share nuances of what makes a dish north Indian vs not. How you can tweak the flavor by either including or not including garlic, ginger, curry leaves or onions. If you want to learn how to make cooking Indian food simple and quick while having fun and enjoy the cooking process, bid on this 2 hour session with Kiran.

Did you know that when you eat at an Indian restaurant in the Washington, DC metro area, you're likely eating North Indian Cuisine? Some restaurants may also offer South Indian options like dosa, idli and lamb vindaloo. Each state in India has its own cuisine with very specific flavors. While Kiran was raised in South India, her family if from western India, the state of Maharashtra, which includes major cities like Mumbai and Pune. Savor the flavor and this unique experience!
