A Pair of Tickets to FLYING OVER SUNSET on Broadway at Lincoln Center
Item Number: 111
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Set in the 1950s, Flying Over Sunset is a work of fiction inspired by the lives of three extraordinary and accomplished people—playwright, diplomat and congresswoman Clare Booth Luce; film legend Cary Grant; and writer Aldous Huxley—each of whom in real life experimented with the drug LSD. At a crossroads in their lives the three come together, and under the influence of the drug, take a trip and confront the mysteries of their lives and their world.
That is the bold premise of the new musical written and directed by James Lapine, premiering at the Beaumont this spring. The gorgeous score is written by Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, If/Then, High Fidelity, Head Over Heels) and Michael Korie (Grey Gardens, War Paint, Far From Heaven and Happiness at LCT). Michelle Dorrance, the world-renowned dancer, choreographer and teacher will make her theatrical debut as the show’s choreographer.
Previews begin March 12, 2020.
