When John Lennon Met Miles Davis

Stanley Michels, grandfather of a Hunter alum, took this photo at a legendary 1971 garden party held at the Riverdale home of Beatles business manager, Allen Klein.

Yoko Ono signed this photograph in 2004.

The party was covered by journalist Al Aronwitz and published in the NY Post on June 14, 1971. (read a copy here...hilarious!)

Celebrities attendending the party that day were John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Miles Davis, Andy Warhol, Jack Nicholson, Ornette Coleman, Stanley Michels, Tariq Ali, Robin Blackburn, Regis Debray, a former Miss Austria, Howard Smith, and some cat with a moustache everybody called "The Count."
