About Our Tours
Each Boston By Foot tour is designed to help you experience the city in new ways - you’ll see historic landmarks, explore a diverse collection of neighborhoods, discuss facts and misconceptions, and learn new insights on the influences, characters and preservation efforts shaping the city.  Our nine classic tours are offered regularly May through October and available on a limited basis during the months of April and November.  Our special Tours of the Month, holiday events and special tours offer unique opportunities to explore Boston’s cityscape. In addition to walking tours, we present Architecture Cruises in partnership with Boston Society of Architects and the Charles Riverboat Company. All tours are offered on a private basis and custom tours are available upon request.

Inspired by America’s Bicentennial, Boston By Foot has presented engaging and thought-provoking tours of Boston since 1976. We are a 501(c)3 educational nonprofit committed to promoting broader public awareness of Boston’s history and architecture.  We encourage you to experience the city’s diverse past with a view to its vast potential.  Our tours are delivered by a community of over 200 volunteer tour guides, many of whom have served Boston By Foot for more than 10 to as many as 40 years.
