Sequoia Sake Company is the first local artisan Sake brewery in San Francisco. Since launching Sequoia Sake in 2015, Jake Myrick and Noriko Kamei have quickly developed an international reputation as one of the leaders in American artisanal Sake movement. Last year, Sequoia won gold and silver medals at the Tokyo Sake Competition for the best Sake produced overseas. We encourage you to watch the PBS documentary on Sequoia Sake. Your Sake Experience and tasting will be led by Jake at Sequoia Sake.

Sake Basics
• Overview of sake varieties, process and standard terminologies.
• Q&A: Everything you wanted to know about sake but was afraid to ask.
Making of Sake
• We will explain three major stages in the sake making with the actual equipment, photos.
• Koji Making
• Fermentation
• Pressing (refining)
Tasting
• Taste three different types of the Sequoia Sake (Ginjo, Genshu, Nigori)
• Talk about the differences between the sake and how to smell, drink and enjoy them
