"These are the best 'learn to read' books that anyone could ever use!! I taught all five of my kids using this collection starting right around age five. We would start with one or two chapters at a time depending on the length of the chapters and the patience of the child. Once they got to book 4 or 5 they were official 'readers' and skyrocketed into other books on their own. My youngest made it all the way through book 12 and is a lean mean reading machine at age six. I've tried buying other sets to supplement, but nothing compares to Dick and Jane and I've found that supplementing with other sets has been confusing and unnecessary. If you want to take the time to teach your child to read, these are absolutely, by far, the best investment you can make!!"
