In Blue Reef, marine biologist and authority on sharks Dr. Walter Starck,  his family and assistants spend two months in the tropics at Enewetak Atoll, living on a research ship, diving on the atoll‘s reefs and the blue water surrounding them.

Using scuba and a small open submarine, and on the surface, he ranged over the atoll’s outer and inner reefs, the lagoon bottom, the channels, the beaches, the islands themselves. investigating and reporting on the entire reef system and how it all fits together from the smallest speck of phytoplankton to the largest predator fish.
