This 18" x 19" framed chalk pastel on suede mat is entitled “Hope and Peace”.

Suede mat is a material typically used in custom framing, but that artist has chose to use it with chalk pastel for the way it accepts the medium and produces vibrant colours.

Patricia Ellen Pelland has enjoyed painting and drawing most of her life.  Animals and children being favorite subjects.  Mostly self-taught, she tried to make art a profession, but it has become a hobby. 

She believes the Lighthouse Mission is a good cause, helping people who need help rather than judgment.
