Description

Artist Judith Anderson chose this painting of the sail boat and the lighthouse because as she walked into my art studio to look at various painting Holy Spirit said choose this one, because it is the lighthouse, a beacon and light when things are dark and stormy and we certainly are going through some difficult times and need some hope. She originally had a different painting in mind, as she loves to paint mountains.

Matted and Framed, this watercolour piece is ready to hang.

Having first started drawing in school, in grade six a picture young Judith drew ended up in her local newspaper. In grade 9, a teacher chose to teach her class art. He had studied fine arts, so he walked the class through all the different artistic mediums. It was in this class she first tried water colour. Painting some for fun after that and it wasn't until encountering a water colour teacher in her 30's that she really picked up her brushes and learned about the art of water colour.

Living in Alberta, every painting she created seemed to have mountains in it. She was selling every painting she did in the class and was really enjoying painting. Moving to Manitoba in 2001, she had set painting aside until a few years ago - the Canadian Shield, sail boats and many different subject matters in addition to mountains.More recently Judith taught a water colour class with a bible study at the Wave Church. She loves sharing art and the beauty of creation with people.

With a love for sailing, Judith and her husband founded a not for profit dedicated to sailing and teaching life principles through the medium of sailing called Take The Helm: Equipping Youth Canada Inc. Experiencing had a few challenges with their one sail boat and it has been a slow start. However they believe that it will get rooted and God will use their experiences of sailing to sow into young lives.
