Description

This design is the latest of tree upcycled saw designs that she makes in her studio. She has been making the tree saws for a couple of years now, and they have since been copied but she prides herself on making all original art, with no two ever being the same. Each one is hand sketched and cut with a hand torch (not cnc). Beyond the reclaimed saws, i make sculptural work with metal (custom requests welcome), as well as assemblage and mosaic with found objects.

21" total length

Artist Pierrette Sherwood likes to repurpose old tools, antique and vintage metals, especially those found on old farms. Having been raised in a dairy farm in LaSalle, the agricultural salvage and old tools carry a sense of nostalgia. She is a self-taught artist and country girl at heart. Much of her work is inspired by nature, especially feathered friends! She enjoys morphing reclaimed materials into artistic creations...The old is renewed, lost treasures are found and the functional becomes poetic. Her Grandfather was a collector and she has inherited his passion for antiques and collectibles. She has an appreciation for  history and is intrigued by the stories behind the pieces. Objects carry memories...

In defining her small art entreprise called "Papillon Creations", she came up with the following positioning statement: "The old is renewed, lost treasures are found and functional becomes poetic."
