Description

This original piece of unknown origin was owned by the late Edward (Ed) Gots and donated the the auction by his sister Suzyn in hopes that someone else could appreciate it as her brother did.

Ed immigrated to Canada during the Hungarian revolution. First living in London England, where he spent 2 years, then moving to Winnipeg as he had family here. He later married a wonderful woman and had two beautiul children.


After enduring a few Winnipeg winters he moved his family to Vancouver. He was in healthcare working at Vancouver General while honing his craft as an artist himself. He never had formal training in art but could create works of art in days. Usually working in oils. He had displayed his work in Vancouver and Harrison Hot Springs where he got a lot of his inspiration. A man of great talent both in art (as well as his love of playing the piano), compassion was something he had also working in the burn units. He died of a misdiagnosed heart condition at the early age of 52.
