Stephanie Phillips, born and raised in Winnipeg, has been sketching and drawing since she could hold a pencil.  Since then she as experimented with a variety of media and art forms, but has mostly focused on sketching, drawing and painting a wide range of subjects including family portraits, caricatures and surrealistic images.  She has degrees in math from the Universities of Winnipeg and Waterloo and is currently pursuing a BSW, a field where her math skills may allow her to branch into social policy and research.  Stephanie volunteers and works on a crisis hotline. 

Through all of life’s ups and downs, art has been a constant and stabilizing influence for Stephanie.  “When life gets tough, I get absorbed in art, a blessing that brings me peace.  It also allows me to make art cards as gifts that express me personally, and that can’t be bought at a mall.”
