Davis' Memory Map series conveys specific narratives taken from her own life or the lives of others. The work shown here tells the story of one of two notable women from Rhode Island’s history, Charlotte Dailey and Sarah Harris Fayerweather. The creative process starts with creating a narrative based from research before using it to construct a collage of altered images. These images include archival photographs and documents, combined with the artist's own photography. Then, After building up layers of paint on a panel, the collage is added to the painting through an image transfer process.
