Taltarni 2014 Brut x 1 Bottle

The flagship cool-climate méthode-traditionnelle sparklings are at the very heart of Taltarni.

With an ideal cool-climate growing season, the sparkling fruit it reached ideal maturity allowing the fruit to retain a natural lean acidity while still developing its full flavour. The fruit was picked at night and pressed immediately to maintain the fresh, vibrant flavours.

Observing traditions, the juice was inoculated and fermented at low temperatures. The individual parcels were blended before being tiraged and allowed to age in the bottle.

After 40 months on lees, the wine was disgorged.

Taltarni 2013 Cuvee Rose x 1 Bottle

The flagship cool-climate méthode-traditionnelle sparklings are at the very heart of Taltarni.

The 2013 season was ideal at the Taltarni Estate Vineyards for producing sparkling base fruit. This cool climate fruit exhibited bright varietal flavours, reaching maturity while still retaining a lean, natural acidity. The fruit was pressed and was exposed to a passive oxidative treatment. With traditional fermentation methods of cold settling and low temperature ferments, the wine produced reflects the quality of the fruit while developing an elegant texture. Partial malo was undertaken in oak with selected Chardonnay components to further enhance the structure of the wine. Once blended and prepared for rage, the wine was inoculated with a champagne yeast strain for its secondary fermentation in bottle.

WINEMAKER COMMENTS

A pale salmon colour, this sparkling has aromatic notes of bread crust and nuts with hints of rose water. This pairs perfectly with bright red berry flavours on the palate that are accentuated with a strawberry acid. The driving length of this acid is balanced with a light cream weight that fills the mouth.

Taltarni Cabernet 2018 x 1 Bottle

The Reserve Shiraz Cabernet is a meticulously crafted great Australian red blend. This wine is the pinnacle of the Taltarni portfolio.
During the 2018 growing season very little rain fell producing ideal conditions for red varietals to fully mature in the Pyrenees. These conditions produced an early bud burst allowing for the fruit to spend more time on the vine developing ripe and intense flavours. Harvested in the cool of the morning and processed into small batch open top fermenters, the wine was cold soaked to slowly extract the varietal flavours. Allowed to naturally start ferment, the fruit was traditionally handled and submerged with French oak boards to minimise all mechanical extraction and maximise the fruit aromatics and flavours. The wine was then placed into French oak barrels where it was allowed to age and develop.

WINEMAKER COMMENTS
Deep red brick in colour, with an intense bouquet of spice, blackcurrant and blueberry, this wine shows the depth of fruit and richness of palate that has made it the iconic Australian blend. The long and velvety palate is accompanied by rich red berry and restrained oak all of which are enriched by hints of light spice, mint and bitter chocolate. Drink now or age for decades to come.

The Taltarni ‘dynamic’ range of wines represents the style, taste and artistic expression of our winemakers.

The ancient Cambrian earth is the iconic red soil that the vineyards of Heathcote are established on. This soil is widely regarded as the reason for the region’s unique Shiraz with distinctive fruit aromas and choc-mocha flavours.

Rich red berry and concentrated spice fill the palate, while fine chalky tannins coat the mouth and driving the length of the wine. Layers of oak add to the structure while the varietal shiraz flavours linger on the finish presenting a perfectly balanced wine.
