This wine has an intense colour of deep purple with flavours of ripe cherries and hints of rose petals. An elegant wine that will age for many years. Slight oak, fine tannins and a long finish with hints of aniseed and black pepper.

Michael Unwin Wines is located in Windermere – Ballarat, Victoria – located around 9kms west from Ballarat CBD and nestled between the Pyrenees and Grampians – home of award-winning wines and the spectacular untamed ranges. After 16 years being located in Beaufort, Mike opened our new winery and vineyards in Ballarat January of 2020.

Michael Unwin learned the art of winemaking around the world with some of the most influential and forward-thinking winemakers of our time.  When the time came to settle down to create his own wines, he build his winery’s in this region, “because this is the geographical centre of our best viticultural areas in Western Victoria.”

The winery is well known for the consistently high-caliber wines across a broad range of styles and price. The wine buying fraternity love the no-nonsense approach and enjoy tasting and buying their wines from inside the actual winemaking cellar at Ballarat.
