Colorado artist and welder Amanda Wilshire of AWD Art designed and created this rising fish just for Casting for Recovery and the Cast One for Hope.  Made of steel, cut and welded,  the fish is rising to a salmon fly - Just like the big cutties do in Montana.  Note the marble eye!   The piece weighs 25lb, measures 30" long, 10 1/2" at the highest point and is 2" wide.  It's not light but then it's also made to last a lifetime!  

Amanda Willshire is an American sculptor living in Denver, Colorado. A native of Arkansas, Amanda grew up fishing and exploring the waters and backwoods of the Ozarks. After graduating from Hendrix College, she worked as a graphic designer in advertising eventually forming her own design firm. Her love of the outdoors brought her to Colorado where she lives today.

The subject matter of her art is born from nature. From large-scale, public art to smaller, "life-sized" creations of steel fish, Amanda brings her love of the outdoors to life. One of Amanda's latest sculptures - The Incredible Electric Technicolor Mockingbird located at the Amazeum in Bentonville, Arkansas - is an interactive work of art. The giant, vibrantly colored bird is true to its name – it mocks back what you say to it...with a twist, of course.
