"Before I became an art teacher I worked with one of my older brothers as a furniture designer and custom cabinet maker in Sag Harbor, New York. I was always amazed at the amount of wood scraps that would be discarded month after month. After gathering some of them I started to draw and paint on them as a new and free medium. I finished my Masters degree in Sculpture and started teaching art in a local high school. Over the years I started creating more and more of these recycled painted wood panels and filled two walls in my house with them. 

My background of surfing and love for the ocean and travel has inspired much of my artwork. The ocean is so rich with life and vibrant colors that is awe inspiring on its on. I hope you enjoy my creations!"
