Originally drawn while in Yosemite, Sentinel Pine is 6" x 8" is a collagraph made by etching into a piece of matte-board coated with gel medium, and 'etched' by carving into the medium and cardboard with a ball point pen, or in Jim’s case, a dentist's tool, then inked and printed by the normal etching method. It is an intaglio print.
