Artist Statement: ANNA SHOWERS CRUSER

In the work "Companion Piece", two forms hang suspended just close enough to feel tethered, while maintaining some autonomy. The objects themselves are humble in their simplicity but reveal evidence of tenderness (lashes, nails, and delicate chain). In an age when closeness is toxic, how might the humor and fallibility of the handmade gesture hold radical potential?
