This aerial picture of a beautiful island features one element of drone photography I particularly like: capturing a beautiful site in an intriguing and novel way, where the viewer is attracted by the geometric patterns and textures, but cannot immediately tell what he or she is looking at.

Artist bio
Originally from Lyon, France, Jerome Strauss is a New York photographer with a passion for drones. He got into aerial photography three years ago, attracted by the freedom and creativity that is possible with a "flying camera". His interests include capturing unusual or abstract shapes and patterns and showing familiar places in new and unexpected ways. His drone pictures have been featured in the Hudson River Museum (winner of a 2018 photo contest) and published twice in the New Yorker.
