Description
The Hill and Valley Club was founded in 1910, and is one of the oldest active women’s clubs in the area. Club members participated in numerous community celebrations including this entry in the 1927 Farm Products Show held at Memorial Park. Their entry won for best “float” at the show. The driver is Mrs. Macabee, with Mrs. Kavanagh sitting next to her. In the back seat are Miss Mable Jamison, Mrs. C. Ray King, the club’s president, and Mrs. Fred Brown. They were parked in front of the John Allan Park home at the corner of First (now Foothill Boulevard) and C Streets.
