Description

Vintage Handmade Patchwork Artisan Quilt

About the artist: Maria del Refugio Diaz arrived in the United States after fleeing the turmoil of the Mexican revolution in 1914. She later married and became Ruth Zimmerman. Maria/Ruth  had learned excellent sewing skills from her mother, which enabled her to have a successful career as a high quality seamstress in San Francisco for many years. This lovely heirloom quilt was sewn by her in the mid 1900s.
