This classic, old style 2010 Gigondas Ventabren comes from a 5-acre parcel of 30-60-year-old vines, and is a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault, all aged in small, old oak barrels. It reveals a lighter color than some of its peers in addition to a sexy, open-knit, evolved bouquet of kirsch liqueur, licorice, roasted herbs and loamy soil. Plush and velvety textured with ripe tannin as well as a full-bodied mouthfeel, it will offer delicious drinking now and over the next 7-8 years. Wine Advocate. October, 2012
