Description

Don’t miss out on this original piece of art in charcoal by local Killarney, MB artist Betty Sawatzky.

In early summer, this Canadian artist poured her feelings and the feelings of a global world into this piece of art that was meant to show the anger and frustration triggered by protests around the U.S. and Canada, but to also highlight the potential for change and turning evil into good.

The art piece was inspired by the Bible verse in Isaiah which speaks about 'beating swords into plowshares ... and there will be war no more ...and they shall no longer be trained for war...' which is such a fitting tribute to the very essence of the International Peace Garden.

The artist also relates that this artwork was also inspired by the statue at the United Nations Art Collection by Evgeniy Vuchetich
