Opera Santa Barbara contributes to the cultural enrichment of audiences by presenting exciting, high-quality productions and community programs that celebrate the breadth and beauty of opera. 

"La Traviata" by Guieseppe Verdi is based on "La Dame aux Camelias", a play adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas fis. "La Traviata" has become immensly popular and is among the most frequently performed of all operas.
