This handmade gift basket is from SERRV International, one of the first fair-trade organizations in the world. SERRV works to combat global poverty and to help over 8,000 artisans and farmers every year by selling their beautiful handcrafts.

The Housewarming Gift Basket contains the following:

• Two recycled-metal Golden Festival lanterns made in the area around Delhi, India. The lanterns are created from partially recycled iron, die cut by hand with intricate patterns to reveal warm light glowing through. Pair with a votive candle or LED tealight (not included).


• Handwoven recycled-cotton rethread throw (60 in. long x 50 in. wide) that is made in India from recycled clothing, which is separated and spun by hand into new threads, that are then overdyed in blue and rewoven on jacquard looms to create this soft, lightweight throw.


• Bolga Elephant Grass Basket (8 in. high x 11 in. dia.) handwoven in Ghana from double-twisted elephant grass.

Each item in the Housewarming Gift Basket provides employment, a fair wage, and social benefits to disadvantaged farmers and artisans in India and Ghana.
