Description

Enjoy 3 Bottles from the King of Gigondas!

2014 Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas Aux Lieux-Dits (2 Bottles)

Produced from eight different vineyards, or “lieux-dits”, on alluvial soils, red and blue clay, as well as limestone marl, from four typical grape varieties of Gigondas:  Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault.  Hand picked and sorted, partly de-stemmed, natural yeasts, long maceration.  Aged 18 months in casks (foudres) and terracotta clay vessels.

Characterized by fresh fruit in its youth, it has now developed a bouquet of exotic spices after a few years of bottle age, garrigue notes joined by hints of licorice and blackberries. It's full-bodied, creamy textured and supple, with a long, velvety finish.

2013 Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas Les Hautes Garrigues (1 Bottle)

The top wine from this estate, from a plot of old vines planted exclusively on the land of the Hautes Garrigues by which the area is named and which serves as the center of the domaine.  Grenache 65%, Mourvèdre 35%. Harvested by hand with a strict selection process, partial destemming, two month maceration in clay amphora.  The wine ages in oak casks (foudres) and terracotta clay vessels for 18 months before bottling.  Offers a rocking bouquet of black cherries, blackberries, bouquet garni, pepper, and fresh earth. Full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, and with building tannins, it’s a fresh and stylish side of Gigondas.
