The winner can choose the storytelling theme:



  • Animal Escapades (folktales and true stories)

  • Personal Childhood Stories about a multitude of experiences. Adults listen delightfully, remembering their own childhoods. Students of all ages enjoy these stories too.

  • Valued Pets (cats, dogs, a budgie and a turtle). Some stories are interactive to engage young minds.

  • Bereavement Stories: perinatal loss; adolescent loss of father; loss by suicide (Trained in bereavement support.)

  • A variety of folktales with many themes.


 


The winner will inform Janet of the age of the audience:


1) Family of children and adults.


2) Students in one of these age groups:  4-5, 6-7, 8-10 or 11-12. (Open to discussion.)


3) College age students: Personal stories and folktales appropriate for studies in family dynamics; child or adolescent behaviour; bereavement; transforming childhood angst through story re-creation; creative writing. (I’m a former college teacher in the English and Social Science Departments.)


4) Adults


5) Seniors


 


Janet will contact the winner to discuss the performance in terms of the age group of the listeners and the theme choice.  The performance will be scheduled at a mutually beneficial time.
